Tuesday August 2, 2007 the final version of  “Fate by Numbers” went online together with a new website and an official press release. Until now there have been 12.000 unique visitors on the www.fatebynumbers.com website. And about 3000 people downloaded the game from the Revival website. During this week game websites also started to host the full game, most are located in the US but "Fate By Numbers" has also been fround on French, Spanish, German, UK, Czech and Russian Gaming Websites:

The biggest are: Gamershell (6000+ downloads): http://www.gamershell.com/pc/fate_by_numbers/downloads.html

and Gamespot (4000+ downloads)

It’s safe to say that more than 10.000 people have downloaded Fate by Numbers within the first 15 days of the release. This is far beyond the producers expectations, especially the rate at which the game spreads around the internet.   The producers have received 2 invitations from game magazines who want to put “Fate by Numbers” (including a lot of other free software and demos) on their free cover DVD.  A new Portugese game magazine published by http://www.impresa.pt/ (22.000 copies)  and a Ukrainian game magazine published by http://www.itc.ua/ (25.000 copies)

There have only been a few actual reviews of the game , although several user comments can be found on gaming websites. Most of the comments are positive. Especially the adventure community seems to like it a lot, asking for episode 2.

The New York Times posted a review this week on their site, The reviewer called it “the most ambitious homemade free game ever”.

Although the rest of the article is not that positive.  http://www.nytimes.com/2007/08/16/technology/circuits/16game.html?_r=1&oref=slogin

All in all, I am very happy with the attention the game has gotten in such a short amount of time.

PHOTOS FROM THE ORIGINAL VIDEO SHOOT IN MARCH

In the new Computer Game "Fate By Numbers" I play General Walters. During the filming of this Video, I was filmed against a green screen for the very first time. Neither the actress, nor the furniture were there at the time of the filming. It was a great learning experience for me. These are scenes excerpted from the Game. Written and directed by Paul van der Meer and featuring Nicole Mischler. To play "Fate By Numbers" online, go to www.fatebynumbers.com.
